The Registration Window is now open for playing softball with Galway Softball in 2024.
Last season, we had close to 100 active members with a near 50/50 gender split. We hope to grow on that foundation while maintaining a on-field 5&5 Female/Male Balance, which is the standard Co-Ed Slowpitch Softball is played across the world.
Whether you’ve never picked up a glove or bat before to played since birth, you are welcome to play in our Social League. We play an internal club Social League on Thursdays at 6:30pm and 7:30pm from May to early September at the back pitches of St. Mary’s College, Galway. The past 3 seasons we’ve had a 5 Team Social League with even squads. We are a very social club with nights out, trips, events or a few get together drinks after training and matches throughout the year.
If you have a Competitive itch that needs to be scratched outside the Social League, there a several competitions and blitzes through out Ireland on the weekends. We compete in Softball Ireland Tournaments such as the Brian Walshe Cup (BWC) in April and the Irish Open Softball Tournament (IOST) in August. We have 3 Travel Teams, the Galway Tribes, Galway Hookers and Oranmore Orcas.
Galway Tribes are the inaugural winners of the Wild Atlantic League ran by our regional body Softball Connacht Munster (SCM), the winners of this League qualify for the Softball Ireland Nationals Club Championship (SINCC) against the Winners of Softball Leinster and Softball Ulster in September. The Winner of SINCC represents Ireland in the Co-ed Slowpitch European Super Club in 2025 with 16 teams across Europe ran by WBSC Europe.
